Drywall Installation for Remodels, Basements & Additions
Patch-It-Now hangs and finishes drywall for residential projects across Jackson County — and finishes the same way we do our repairs: taped, floated, and textured so the walls look like they were always there. Founder Jose has been doing drywall work in the Kansas City metro since 2014, and the same eye that makes our repairs invisible makes our installations clean. Whether you're finishing a basement, adding a room, or redoing a space down to the studs, we hang it, tape it, and leave it paint-ready.
What We Install
- Basement finishing — drywall over framed, insulated basement walls and ceilings, taped and textured to match the rest of the house.
- Room additions & bonus rooms — new walls and ceilings hung and finished as part of a remodel or expansion.
- Garages & shop walls — durable, finished drywall for garages, workshops, and utility spaces.
- Remodels — kitchens, baths, and whole-room renovations where walls come down and go back up.
- Closets, built-outs & large repairs — projects too big for a simple patch, where a full sheet or wall is the cleaner fix.
Drywall Taping & Finishing — Including Finishing Your Own Hang
Already hung your own drywall and need it finished? That's one of our most common installation requests, especially from DIYers and home flippers. We tape, mud, sand, and texture to a clean, paint-ready or smooth finish — the part that's hardest to get right and easiest to tell when it's done by a pro. You hang it; we make it look professional.
Our Installation Process
We hang the board — measured, cut, and screwed tight to the framing with proper seams — then tape and mud the joints over multiple coats, sand everything flat, and finish the surface to match your home. From there it's either a sprayed texture (knockdown or orange peel) matched to your existing walls, or a smooth, paint-ready finish sanded flat and primed. Either way, it's left ready for your painter.
Smooth or Textured — Your Choice
Most Jackson County homes have a sprayed wall and ceiling texture, so new drywall usually gets texture-matched to blend in seamlessly. Some homeowners prefer a clean, modern smooth finish with no texture at all — which takes more coats and careful sanding because a smooth wall hides nothing. We do both and will recommend what fits the space and the adjoining rooms.
We're residential-focused: remodels, basements, additions, garages, and bonus rooms in homes. That focus is exactly why our finishing and texture work come out so clean — it's the same craft as our repairs, at room scale.
What Drywall Installation Costs
Installation pricing depends on the size of the space, ceiling height, how much framing and prep is involved, and whether you need hang-and-finish or finishing only. Because it varies so much by project, the honest answer is that we quote it in person — every estimate is free and flat-rate, with the price agreed before any work starts. Call (913) 401-6306 or send a few photos and rough dimensions and we'll get you a number quickly.
Install + Finish, or Just Finish?
We're flexible on scope. We can take a space from bare studs to paint-ready, or step in for just the part you need — hang only, or finish drywall you've already hung. Tell us where the project stands and we'll quote exactly that.
